Description
This three-story stone pagoda is standing on a hill 150 m northwest from Seokguram Grotto. It has an extraordinary appearance since its lower part consists of round and octagonal platforms topped with three-story square body stones. The two-story platform is unique in terms of its style, but the origin of this design is unknown. This pagoda is presumed to have been built in the late 8th century during the Unified Silla Period, based on the harmonious combination of round, square, and octagonal shapes and detailed carving techniques.
