Description
This collection of eight woodblocks stored at Gaesimsa Temple in Seosan was used for the publication of Dalmadaesa gwansimnon (Treatise on Contemplation of the Mind by Bodhidharma). The book was published several times during the Joseon period (1392-1910), of which the Munsusa Edition (1538) and the Ansimsa Edition (1570) are well known, but the Gaesimsa Edition is the only extant example whose printing blocks have survived. Preserved in their original condition, the blocks are regarded as an important primary source material on the Korean Buddhist heritage and therefore worthy of protection by law.
