Description

This celadon gourd-shaped ewer complete with lid and saucer is characterized by the use of slip painting and inlay techniques to decorate the surface with a floral design. Its imposing stable body, elaborately applied surface design marked with freely flowing brush strokes, and highly refined slip painting technique, as well as its rarity value and the fact that it has been preserved as a complete set, make this ewer one of the finest celadon vessels of its kind remaining today.
