Description
The First Tripitaka Koreana Edition Mahavajpulya-BuddhaAvatamska Sutra, Zhou version Part 41 (kept at Yeungnam University) is a part of the eighty part-book translated by Sik Ananda of the Tang Dynasty of China. Each page of these scriptures is composed of twenty-three lines of fourteen characters, unlike the Second Tripitaka Koreana Edition (a Korean collection of the Tripitaka carved onto roughly 80,000 wooden printing blocks), each of whose pages is composed of twenty-four lines of seventeen characters. The one in the subject is what can show the difference between the First Tripitaka Koreana Edition and the Second, and is a very rare part of the surviving scriptures. This first Trip. Kor~ is the only copy left, so this is the only source that shows the difference between the first draft, which was burnt to disappear, and the revised copy.) As such, it is considered worthy of designation and preservation as a national cultural heritage (Treasure).
