Description
This royal edict was issued to Jo Sung in the third lunar month of 1396 (fifth year of the reign of King Taejo of the Joseon Dynasty), appointing him to the Supreme Council. It contains 6 lines written in cursive script, with each page measuring 75 cm wide and 73.5 cm wide. It was a representative official edict indicating the written appointment issued in the early Joseon Period.
