Description

This is the tomb where Queen Dangyeong, the wife of King Jungjong, is buried. She became the Queen when her husband became the King as the consequence of an enthronement in 1506. However, her father was a brother-in-law of Crown Prince Yeonsan, who was abdicated by that enthronement. Also her father was against the enthronement. With these regards, she was demoted 7 days later and forced to leave the palace. She died in 1557, the 12th year of the reign of King Myeongjong, and was buried in her family graveyard. In 1698, a shrine was established for her and in 1739, she regained her title as Queen and her grave was named as Olleung. The tomb has no stone screen or balustrade. Stone statues of a sheep and a tiger were situated around the tomb as stone guardians. In front of the tomb was a shrine, but it was removed due to the road construction in 1970.
