Description

This site is where ceramics, roof tiles, vessels, etc., are made. It is located on the right hill facing Namsongjeong Village east-west of Wolchulsan Mountain. Here, two kiln sites were excavated, with a structure of the kiln in half-underground style. It is 4.7m long and 2.3m wide, with the lower part becoming narrower to the upper part. Ceramics in many shapes for various uses including gray-black broken pieces of pottery were found. Manufacturing activities seem to have been carried out in general in the period of the first half of the 10th Century. The Kiln Site in Gurim-ri is a kiln site of a transition period from the Unified Silla Period to the Goryeo Period. It is a very important place where the half-underground-style kiln structure with only one baking room and the special character of the excavated broken piece of china were found.
