Description
The Korean name of white forsythia (Miseon) means that its fruits are fan-shaped. The shape of the fruits is also similar to the heart symbol. This tree is a rare species, growing only in Korea. It grows to about 1~1.5m, and the tips of its branches droop downward like the golden bell tree. The tree belongs to the same family as the golden bell tree; just like the golden bell tree, its flowers bloom before the leaves come out. The Natural Habitat of White Forsythia in Maecheon-ri, Yeongdong is near Baekcheon Stream. white forsythias in this place are preserved in natural condition. As a place where the valuable trees that grow only in Korea thrive, it is designated and protected as a Natural Monument
