Description
The Set of Bronze Mirrors with Fine Linear Design were excavated from an earthen-pit tomb (Tomb Nos. Galdong-5/7) in Bangyo-ri, Iseo-myeon, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do. The set comprises two bronze mirrors dating back to around the second century during the Iron Age. They are unusual in that it is rare for such relics to be excavated by an excavation survey. Although they date from a slightly later period than their counterparts excavated from Nosan and Daegok-ri, Hwasun, they have beautiful, well-arranged decorative patterns and display the advanced bronze tool production skills of the early Iron Age. The mirrors are considered worthy of designation and preservation as a Treasure because they form a complete set, display attractive decorative patterns, and are valuable artifacts for studies on the bronze tool production skills of the early Iron Age in Korea.
