These are the documents of Choe Huiryang (1560∼1651), who was a mayor of Heungyang area at the time of the Imjin War, reporting a sweeping victory over the Japanese invaders to Yi Sun-sin, the admiral of the naval forces of Jeolla-do and the governor of Jeolla-do. Originally separate, the documents were made into an album by his descendant, Choe Gijeong who combined each item into one book. Choe Gijeong entitled the album Choeirong pawaebocheop wonbon, and attached white or red paper to the cover of each item so that the classification of the contents would become clear. As the content of this document was an on the spot war report, it is very rare in that it kept the formalities for official documents at that time as the senior officer replied in the space of the document. In addition, it has a full account of the victory against the Japanese invaders, an important event that is not known through any other documents.
