This book, Volume 7 of the Lotus Sutra (or Saddharmapundarika Sutra), contains the same text as that of the book designated as Treasure No. 694. While both contain the same text of Buddhist sutra, their page layouts are slightly different from each other. The book of Treasure No. 694, for instance, is marked by the use of single-line page borders without vertical lines to separate lines of text while this book displays single-line top and bottom borders, double-line side borders, and the lines to separate text lines. Both contain the same preface written by an eminent Yuan monk Deyi (ca. 1231-1308) in 1286 but the second reveals a clear date of its publication by carrying a postscript written by Yi Saek (1328-1396) in 1384. The style of the printing types used for this book as well as the outstanding printing quality suggests that it was printed with woodblocks freshly carved on the basis of the Song edition of the book.
