These are ancient documents kept at the head house of Buan Kim’s Clan in Buan, Jeollabuk-do. They come in about 80 items of 6 kinds, including royal edicts issued to Kim Seok-pil, who was a civil official during the reigns of King Yeonsangun and King Jungjong, records of property inheritance, royal orders, petitions, royal certificate of meritorious subject, and other official documents as well. In particular, the royal orders and edicts provide valuable information for the research on the personnel administration system, petitions for the study of social affairs, records of property inheritance and official documents for the study of the economic, social, and family systems, and royal certificate of meritorious subject for the research of Gongsin Dogam (Directorate of Meritorious Subjects).
